I had decided a few years ago to do the walk- but things came up and I'd decide to put it off… Once a person decides to commit to a pilgrimage - that very moment is really the beginning of the journey and if you are mindful you watch it unfold...accept the gifts that come along with that commitment -- it's a call to open yourself to experiences that whether you like it or not will transform you... Open to knowing that you will return differently and are willing to walk into the unknown!! The path is challenging- you are out in the world- at times alone- out of your comfort zone- physically and emotionally - and you are required to be fully present every second to everything and everyone- as much as I try to be this present and mindful in my everyday life--it was much more amplified on the path-- some moments - in nature - were about being absolutely still & breath taking... Some moments going uphill were about taking one breath, one step, one moment at a time... And then there were moments of amazing interconnectedness - kindness, a smile, compassion, love... Moments of feeling safe, happy, free-- I felt that I/ we are all precious --as we keep our hearts open to each other.. I was in gratitude for those along the path, my family, friends and patients that supported me thru this journey and sponsored me... And grateful that I achieved my goals .. And Prashanti School/ kids will benefit from this journey!!! In spirit, Edie

Still a ways to go.. Many interesting pilgrims along the way.. Spent little time w/ a 13yr old.. He was way ahead of me.. Noticed he was walking slow & funny.. He said it was his 3rd day.. He had blisters.. He's from so. Spain .. Walking w/ 25 family members!! So he & I walked for along for quite a while..sharing stories of life..he spoke English .. & I ans'd him back in Spanish .. After a while ..nature called.. Told him to go ahead .. As I headed out to nature-- he stopped and asked if I would Pls catch him again.. I promised.. Caught up w/ him .. He had a big smile.. He said you know .. Since we have been walking together my feet haven't hurt!! Sweet.. Some of his relatives came up behind us .. And I commented.. On what an amazing spirit he is.. His aunt said he is an angel.. And they kept walking.. I walked w/ him til he stopped and said he had to sit down for a while.. He would Wait for his mom..He looked at me and said-- how old are you?? I said -today 50 yrs older than you. He shook his head-- said he couldn't believe I was that old-- I said I am-- he said - but you don't even look tired!!! Omg lol.. Told him I wasn't.. Not all old people get - get old or tired!! It was news to him.. Thanked him for sharing about his life & the road...too sweet!!

The lines represent all the different paths/ routes that all end Santiago compostal.. St.james church .. Wearing one means u are a pilgrim on the path .. As you walk along the path you look for the shell on the walls ...signs.. So one stays on the path...
