OUR MISSION: 
World Family Foundation is a 501c3 US non-profit dedicated
to changing the world one child at a time by providing impoverished, marginalized children with loving support and education,
giving them the opportunity to become productive members
​and leaders of their communities.
Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty!

We provide quality education, a safe, loving home, food, clothing, clean drinking water, medical care and daily tutoring. 
Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty, illiteracy, and the devastating trap of low expectations.
Education is a basic human right, yet it is the children who live in poverty, especially those from the formerly "untouchable" and "scheduled" classes, who are the least likely to attend school or to complete their education. Coming from abject poverty, many of these children would have ended up begging on the streets, working in the rice paddies, selling tea on the roadside, or even being forced into to prostitution by the time they were 12 years old. Instead, they are making great strides towards real literacy, fluency in written and spoken English, competency in math and science, and much more. They are going on to college and vocational training, becoming teachers and learning other professions. The values they learn at our Prashanti School of truth, right action, peace, love non-violence and service prepare them for life.​​ One of the founding principles of World Family Foundation is to preserve the integrity of each child's own cultural and religious background.

BUILDING UP PRASHANTI INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
 PIS is building UP! We are adding another floor to our main building! 
​This allows us to to better serve the needs of the community, and take the students all the way through 12th grade, preparing them to go on to good jobs, vocational training, university, and higher studies. 

Your donation to our PIS Building Fund will have an immediate positive effect on the lives and future of needy children. The impact of your giving will affect these children now and will continue to affect others for years to come. Just like the ripples in a pond, the changes radiate onwards from these children into their families, their communities, and the future!

In Her Own Words:
    " For me, personally, to be a part of World Family Foundation is to participate in a network of love world wide! WFF was founded after a category five, super cyclone hit Puri and the northeastern part of Odisha, India in Oct., 1999…. entire villages were wiped off the face of the earth.
    At that time I had just returned to the States to care for my ailing mother. I had spent years in Odisha and had a registered supplementary school in Puri, Orissa to provide tutoring and to encourage poor children in their studies. The drop-out rate in India is so high. But all this was soon to change. I was asked by the local government to take in orphans and children now fatherless due to the cyclone!
    I was in a dilemma. How could we do this when my duty at that time was in the States to take care of my mother. But when I saw a newspaper clipping of the bloated corpse of a dead child, it felt like these destitute children were now on my doorstep. I couldn’t turn away.
    What evolved was so amazing! I would receive a call from India that another child had been brought to the school. But often even before or soon after, someone would call and wish to sponsor that child. It was all being taken care of on some higher plane of love!
    I returned to India, and I found that working with these children changed my priorities. They ask for so little and are so happy after they adjust to their new life in the school. I began to realize that the less I needed, the more I could give and the happier I was too!
    Many of our sponsors have experienced loss in their lives, as do the children. Either a family member has died, or they have gone through a divorce or some other loss. But to become a sponsor of a child is so rejuvenating and joyful! It helps us to reconnect again with our world family. It is what love is all about.
    Whether one is there physically or not, the bond is so intimate. The children never feel that their aunties and uncles are worlds away. They talk about them daily and work hard in their studies, sometimes just to please them. The financial support gives the children a home and an education, but the heart to heart connection gives them hope! This one to one relationship makes the big difference in the lives of these kids.
    We at WFF only plant the seed by providing a safe nurturing environment and a quality education. In our lifetime we may never see the fruit, but now we see the children beginning to blossom beyond our wildest dreams. These children used to be fatherless or orphans, but now they have a home, a wonderful world family, and a chance for a brighter future!
     In World Family Foundation we can make the difference between life and death in the life of a child and in the future of our planet as well. We can share our consciousness and love, or not. We may live locally in a small town, but we can think globally. In the deepest sense, we are all “entangled.” We are part of a world community. For me, to see the first smile on the face of a new child who has suffered so much is worth more than gold. This experience is all about love. If we choose to become a sponsor, each and every one of us can discover it for ourselves.
